چکیده
The Photon Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) technique is used to capture simultaneously propagating elastic waves of longitudinal and shear nature in a Tension-Torsion Hopkinson Bar (TTHB) apparatus. system uses pair probes per velocity measurement, which were taken on the opposite sides TTHB bar with laser irradiated spot size ~35 µm. collected data compared measurements obtained from conventional strain gauge technique, good agreement. PDV method was effective separating rotation signals even when they superimposed each other at location. This approach also shown be detecting accounting for presence bending bars.

Application of photon Doppler velocimetry to direct impact Hopkinson pressure bars.
Direct impact Hopkinson pressure bar systems offer many potential advantages over split Hopkinson pressure bars, including access to higher strain rates, higher strains for equivalent striker velocity and system length, lower dispersion, and faster achievement of force equilibrium. Currently, these advantages are gained at the expense of all information about the striker impacted specimen face,...
متن کاملNew developments in photon Doppler velocimetry
Photon Doppler velocimetry (PDV) has made the transition among many experimental groups from being a new diagnostic to being routinely fielded as a means of obtaining velocity data in high-speed test applications. Indeed, research groups both within and outside of the shock physics community have taken note of PDV’s robust, high-performance measurement capabilities. As PDV serves as the primary...
متن کاملSingle camera three component planar velocity measurements, using two frequency Planar Doppler Velocimetry (2ν-PDV)
The work presented here describes a method that allows three component velocity measurements to be made, quickly and non-intrusively, across a plane in a flow defined by a laser light sheet. The method, two frequency planar Doppler Velocimetry (2ν-PDV) is a modification of the Planar Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) technique, using only a single CCD camera, and sequential illumination of the flow usi...
متن کاملSingle camera 3D planar Doppler velocity measurements, using two frequency Planar Doppler Velocimetry (2ν-PDV) and imaging fibre bundles
A modified Planar Doppler Velocimetry (PDV) technique, two frequency PDV (2-PDV), is described that allows measurements of the velocity field over a plane defined by a laser light sheet using sequential illumination of the flow with two closely separated (~1GHz) frequencies of laser light. This allows a common-path imaging head to be used containing a single CCD camera instead of the usual cam...
